President Trump Acquitted
For the second time in just over a year, President Donald J. Trump was acquitted yesterday in the Senate, after being impeached in the House of Representatives on a single article, “incitement of insurrection against the Republic he swore to protect.” Setting two historical precedents, the first time for a president to be twice impeached, and the other, the impeachment of a president after leaving office.
Although the Democrats talk a lot about upholding democracy and preserving our Constitution, they’ve done the exact opposite. They’ve made a complete sham of our governmental proceedings, rejected the concept of due-process and the rule of law. The Democrat House Managers used politically divisive rhetoric and presented doctored evidence in a trial that was clearly politically motivated.
The only positive outcome of this ridiculous political theater: Americans are finally waking up to the massive amount of corruption in our government.
Time for a New Party?
There’s been much chatter lately of starting a new political party. I get it. MAGA supporters are tired of the shady, turncoat Republicans in Name Only (RINO). Those frustrations are warranted, especially after what transpired in the wake of the November 3, 2020 election. Why didn’t the GOP leadership demand inquiries into the strange statistical anomalies of the election results? Why weren’t the GOP leadership coming alongside the president, to stand in solidarity as a party? The spineless RINOs turned tail and headed back into the swamp from whence they came.
Before you start slinging mud at me, let me explain something. I'm not suggesting that all Republicans are RINOs. I've worked alongside many GOP leaders and politicians that are wonderful patriots. But we need to look at how we ALL can be active in the local GOP to enact meaningful and positive change.
So what do we do? Every conservative must get involved with their local Republican party. Start by reaching out to your official county Republican party. No, I’m not referring to all of those well-meaning Republican social clubs. Call the Chairman of your official county GOP. If you don’t get a response, then call your state GOP and find out how you can get involved. It’s the only meaningful way for change to occur.
The real power of the GOP rests with the people in the voting precincts, and specifically the Precinct Committeeman. In case you’re wondering what a precinct is, it’s simply a geographical area of registered voters (roughly 1,000 registered voters) for the purpose of voting. It’s the place where you vote on election day. Essentially, the precinct is comprised of your neighbors. It’s where the grassroots movement begins. (Check out Dan Schultz of the Precinct Project for more information.)
Unfortunately, many Republican precincts across the nation aren’t even organized. Meaning, they haven’t had anyone step up to lead the charge of organizing republican voters in their precincts. This means there are tremendous opportunities to volunteer for leadership roles and affect change within the GOP. Although it might seem like a daunting task, it really isn’t. Volunteers are always needed to serve, especially in roles like Precinct President, Vice President, or Executive Committeeman. Right now is the best time to get involved because re-organization is happening in County Republican Parties across the nation.
Happy Valentine's Day
For the past year we've all lived through some very strange and challenging times. Our nation is politically divided. Mask mandates and social distancing are the new normal.
In difficult times such as these, it's imperative that we're all reminded of the power of love. Love in action....is powerful. Agape is the greek word used in the Bible to describe God's love for us. It's unconditional. It's sacrificial. It's selfless. And because God is love, it's the reason we are commanded to love the Lord with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Love God. Love people. Love changes everything.
Wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Day!
ETR Gives Back
Americans vote Republican for a multitude of reasons. Whether it be protecting second amendment rights, securing our borders, standing up against illegal immigration, America first, or protecting the life of the unborn. The founders of Engage The Right are conservative for many reasons, but one reason close to our hearts is protecting life in the womb.
